They are: Burgundy wine region of France is traditionally acknowledged as the home of Chardonnay but the grape is also grown in California and Australia, it is renowned for its dry fruity aroma. The traditional home of Sauvignon Blanc is in France, especially within the wine growing regions of Bordeaux and the Loire Valley, Sauvignon Blanc white grape variety is best known for its crisp, dry refreshment, it ranges in flavor from grassy to sweet fruity aroma. Riesling ranks along with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc as the favorite, its traditional home is the Rhine region of Germany in the Mosel and Rheingau, Riesling wine is high in acidity with floral tropical aroma. Pinot Gris is a white grape variety, the berry skin of Pinot Gris, it is rose-colored and the wine have a deep golden yellow appearance. There is two types of Pinot Gris wines (Pinot Blanc & Pinot Noir) in France and in Alsace the wine is spicy and full-bodied. In Italy, the Pinot Grigio wine is of lighter-bodied and more acidic. Semillon is a golden-skinned grape, used to make both dry and sweet white wine, the Bordeaux Blanc dry wine and the Semillon sweet white wine, they are also produce in South Africa, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. Gerwurztraminer is a white aromatic grape, its wine aroma is made from lychee, roses, passion fruits and flowers, the traditional home of Gewurztraminer is in the Alsace region of France and it is also produced in Germany, Austria and Italy. Viognier is a white grape, its traditional home is the Rhone region of France, white wine made from the Viognier grape tend to be full-bodied with a lush soft character, it is also produced in Australia and California. Chenin Blanc is a white grape mainly associated with the Loire Valley of France in Anjou where it produces dry white wine note of apple and quince and in Vouvray where it produces off-dry white wine with floral note and honey-like flavor. Gruner Veltiner is a white grape considered to be the national grape of Austria in the northeast of the country in the regions of Wachau, Kremstal and Kamptal that are located along the steeply sloped terraces of the Danube River. Torrontes is a white grape variety that is grown exclusively in Argentina, the wine is of fresh aromatic flavor with a moderate high acidity of peach and apricot smooth texture. Muller-Thurgau is a new breed of grape mixed blended of Riesling grape with Silvaner grape in the Rheingau region of Germany. Silvaner grape is grown in western Germany and the French wine region of Alsace, it is the third most popular white grape in Germany after the Riesling and Muller grapes. Pinot Blanc grape is cultivated in the Alsace wine region and in famed Burgundy wine regions of France as well, it is produced in Baden and Palatinate regions in Germany where it is called Weissburgunder, in Austria known as Klevner and in Italy and Spain named Pinot Blianco. There are two hundreds different types of Muscat grapes but only four primary types are used to make wines. Muscat Blanc of small grains, Muscat of Alexandria, Muscat of Hamburg, Muscat Ottonel, as young wines, the Muscat tend to have a citrus, rose and peach aromas. Airen grape is typically found in the hot dry regions of central Spain, in La Mancha and Valdepenas. Roussanne grape is found in the Rhone Valley in France where it is often blended with Marsanne, the Roussanne grape is golden, reddish-brown color and is known for its flowery, herbal tea aromas. Garganega is an Italian white grape primarily found in the Veneto region of Italy that produces crisp white soave wines. Verdicchio grape variety is found within the Marche region of central Italy, Verdicchio wine is characterized by their lack of color, it has high acidity and citrus note, some Verdicchio wines have almond notes. Marsanne grape is most commonly found in the Rhone region, in Savoy and the Languedoc wines regions of France. Albarino also known as Alvarinho grape is found along the northern atlantic coastline of Spain's Galicia region and Vinho Verde wine region of Portugal.
